Clutha Health Inc
Clutha Health Incorporated is a Community Trust made up of people appointed to its Board of Directors from within the community for a three year term. This Incorporated Society was established when Balclutha was faced with possible closure of its local hospital, the community rallied and took over control of its secondary health system. Clutha Health Incorporated owns the buildings currently occupied by Clutha Health First at 3-7 Charlotte Street, 20 Clyde Street and 24 Clyde Street. Clutha Health Incorporated is committed to encouraging and supporting the health needs of the wider community and runs a monthly Community Wellness programme throughout the Clutha District, encouraging those in the community to attend seminars, practical sessions, and information events to best meet their health needs. Clutha Health Incorporated also has an annual scholarship available to people in the Clutha District for funding which will enable them to complete studies related to the health profession; to enhance recruitment and retention of skilled health personnel in the Clutha District; to support local health providers in the ongoing development of health personnel to improve the service delivery of health services, and to improve health gains for the Clutha District in line with the priorities as set out in the Clutha Health First Strategic Plan.
